AEC BIM Engineering: Pathway to Smarter Building Solutions

AEC BIM Engineering Solutions create real value for the MEP design firms by saving construction cost, avoiding error in the early stage of construction and reduce rework. Our Engineers enhance construction workflow and quality of design and building through BIM. We offer customized solution to improve the workflow of the consultant/contract. Our Comprehensive BIM Engineering services include:

Building and Design Development:

The transitional phase of engineering services is in which the design moves from the schematic phase to the contract document phase. In this Phase, the Engineer prepares drawings and other presentation documents to crystallize the design concept and describe it in terms of architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems. In addition, the engineer also prepares a statement of the probable project cost.

At this stage, our BIM team can visualize complex systems avoid conflicts with other building systems, enhance engineers simplify design decision making, and produce coordinated and accurate design documentation. This helps us increase design performance, produce higher-quality work, and increase cost efficiency. Compatibility issues also become outdated as we import from and export to a variety of CAD formats with ease to share with you during the design review process.

Clash Detection Analysis and Constructability Review:

We perform constructability review and clash detection analysis through project review software like Autodesk Design Review & Navis Works. This software enables us to identify constructability and conflicts and fix them efficiently.

Building Design Validation:

We provide design validation services through Revit like Lighting Lux levels, DB Schedules, Load balancing, HVAC Load Calculation, Pump Head calculation, pipe sizing and layout, Equipment schedule, etc.

Benefits of Value Engineering

Value Engineering is used to solve problems, identify and eliminate unwanted costs, while improving function and quality. The aim is to increase the value of products, satisfying the products performance requirements at the lowest possible cost.
Value Engineering should start at project inception where the benefits can be greatest, however the contractor may also have a significant contribution to make as long as the changes required to the contract do not affect the time scales, completion dates or incur additional costs that outweigh the savings on offer.
Value Engineering in Project Management

Value Engineering Involves:

  • Identify the main elements of a product, service or project.
  • Analyzing the functions of those elements.
  • Developing alternative solutions for delivering those functions
  • Assessing the alternative solutions
  • Allocating costs to the alternative solutions
  • Developing in more detail the alternatives with the highest likelihood of success.

IFC/Tender Drawings

IFC (Issued for Construction) or Tender drawings means that the drawings and specifications have been approved by the local governing agencies and that these are the plans by which the project will be constructed.

Construction documents are generated from the information provided into our models. Our BIM Models represent the most comprehensive drawings, depicting each component with technical information.

  • Sections can be generated in the critical areas
  • All the Equipment’s will be with necessary clearances

AEC BIM ENGINEERING SERVICES will be producing the final IFC Construction drawings with the below information:

  • Floor plans with system sizes and specified scales
  • Schematic drawings to ensure continuity of services with design intent and to provide riser sizes with branch connections
  • Detail/Enlarge drawings containing typical installation details & mock-ups with equipment schedules
  • Block out/Penetration drawings with major structural openings coordinated with MEP requirements

Quantity Take-Off (QTO)

We produce accurate quantities of all materials through BIM and they are automatically updated in the BIM Model. Our Quantity Takeoff reports are formatted in Excel and exported to a database for detailed analysis. Our quantities are generated for a specific time period or project area either in 4D or 5D for managing material procurement and saving inventory costs.
